Photoshop for beginners - Part 48 l Making a Dramatic Black and White Image in Photoshop CC 2022

Let’s start the class. In this class, I will show you how to convert a colorful picture to dramatic black and white.

Please download this picture from the description and open it with photoshop.

Please go to image then calculations.

First, we will change the blend mode to make it black and white.

You can hover on every mode so that you can see which mode will be the best for your current picture.

I think the normal mode is best for this image.

Now please change the channel and please select which one is best looking for this image.

For me, green is good for now. And now check the source 2 channel as green.

The result must be “New Channel”.

Please hit ok.

Now we have to open the channel tab. If you don’t have it then please go to the window and check on the channel’s option. Hover your mouse cursor here and click CTRL+A or CMD+A and then CTRL+C or CMD+C to copy the black and white layer.

Now please open your layer tab and click on a new layer. After that please press CTRL+V or CMD+V to paste the black and white image on this new layer.

Now you can see we changed the image color without damaging the original image.
