Photoshop for beginners Part 29 l Lantern Light Manipulation in Photoshop CC

CTRL+J or CMD+J for copying this layer.

Click on this icon then select “color lookup” select moonlight 3DL.

Then select these 2 layers and click right then please hit merge.

Rename it and then hit CTRL+J or CMD+J for copy again.

Rename again as “Cut Glass”.

We have to cut these glasses. So that our light effects do not show over the grills.

Zoom in this image. Select pen tool. After selecting hit right and make a selection.

Father radius will be 5 px. Hit ok and press deletes key on your keyboard.

CTRL+D or CMD+D for removing selection and making a selection from the left side also.

If CTRL+D or CMD+D is not worked then select the move tool here and then press CTRL+D or CMD+D for remove selection. After that make a selection to the right also. The step is the same as we did before.

Now please select “BG 02” Layer and press on the new layer icon.

Rename it as “light”.

Change the blending mood into “color dodge”.

Select the brush tool. Opacity 100% Flow 10%. Make sure “Foreground” will be white and “Background” will be “Black”.

 

Press here your mouse left key for taping the light effects. From small amount to larger amount.

Press the first bracket or close the bracket key to increase or reduce the brush size.

Then on the left, if you place too much white then press CTRL+Z or CMD+Z for undo.

Same on the right side, please.

 

You can see the edges of this lamp are not overflowed by the light effects. Because we did cut the glass and place the glassless layer on top of this light effects.
