 Hi, this is your host Akash; in this class, I will show you how to make a newspaper format in illustrator CC.

So, this magazine page I made in illustrator. Open your illustrator and let’s start the class.

Please rename this new document. The width will be 8.5 inches and the height will be 11 inches.

Bleed will be 0.25 inches then hit create.

CTRL+Zero or CMD+Zero so that you can fit the artboard with your display.

Go to file then place and select this format and please place it. Drag the place option from the corner and adjust it, please.

Expand your layers panel and you can rename it as BG. So that you can find it easily.

Please go to View and Rulers then show rulers. Now you can see there is rulers around your artboard. Hold the left key on your ruler and drag your mouse then place a guideline so that you can understand the measurement. It will help you to create a text box, and lines. You can understand where to start and stop. All you have to do is just follow my steps and place every guide so that we can start the design without any untidy mess. Now just select the line segment tool and start from the top line. Hold your mouse left key+Shift and drag over the ruler guide so that it will be straight. Remember to hold the shift key so that the line will be straight. After completing the dragging release your left key. Change the stroke color to black and the size will be 4 or 5 points. Select the line layer and bring your mouse pointer over the line, then hold your alt key and drag the line so that it will copy itself and create new lines, release the left key where it’s necessary to be. Turn off the BG layer so that we can adjust these all lines. Select the line if it's not fit with the guidelines, then you can use your keyboard arrow key to adjust with the guidelines. Now please select the type tool so that we can write the publish date of this magazine paper. Hope you saw our previous class, I showed you how to work with the type tool completely. Now we will place an image here. Please go to the file then place and select the image. You can download all these source files from the description of this video. Hold the alt key and drag the headline here so that it will copy into a new layer. Please adjust this headline. You also copy the paragraph and adjust it. We can also change the font style. Turn on the BG layer and use the guidelines again so that we can design the bottom perfectly. Select the type tool this time reduce the text size please. It will be 10P. And draw a text box here. You will see some text in the box automatically. Just hold alt and drag the paragraph to the right. Click right outside of this artboard so that you can hide all these guides. Now you can simply export it as png and open it with your windows photo viewer.
